We’re looking for a WordPress Developer (ideally based in Lahore or willing to relocate) to develop, maintain, and optimize websites and plugins. This role involves both building new sites from scratch and maintaining existing WordPress applications.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of independently implementing web solutions, including UI/UX improvements where design input is minimal.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy WordPress websites and custom plugins.
- Create and maintain server-side functionality and theme customizations.
- Work with MySQL databases, including query optimization and data handling.
- Identify and correct flaws or bugs in existing WordPress code.
- Ensure all user inputs are sanitized and validated for security.
- Implement security best practices for WordPress sites and plugins.
- Write unit tests and maintain test coverage for critical functionality.
- Create written documentation for custom themes, plugins, and site features.
- Maintain and optimize legacy WordPress websites and plugins.
- Collaborate with designers and project managers to enhance website functionality and UX.
Requirements and Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a WordPress Developer or in a similar role.
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of PHP, WordPress, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Experience in creating custom themes and plugins.
- Familiarity with WooCommerce, REST APIs, and WordPress hooks and filters.
- Knowledge of unit testing and debugging tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with UI/UX principles for web development.
